PROBABLY THE BEST WINE IN THE COUNTRY

Château Burgozone is a young Bulgarian winery situated at a distance of 180 km north from Sofia and 4 km from the town of Oryahovo, on the steep slope of the Southern bank of Danube River. Within the territory of the vineyard there are remains from the ancient Roman Fortress of Burgozone and the winery has been named after it. Material proofs found here such as pieces of jars and other ceramic pottery prove the vine growing and wine making goes back to that particular times when the Fortress protected the Roman Empire against barbarian attacks.

The unique terroir- relatively warm climate, altitude and Carbonate black soil provide excellent conditions for grape growing and contribute for the production of high- quality white and red wines.

With its vineyards spread over an area of 100 hectares Chateau Burgozone is a good example of skilful combination of ancient wine traditions with modern world's wine-growing practices. The company’s philosophy follows the basic rule in wine production that good wine is produced only from grapes of a vineyard carefully and well-kept, thus applying environment friendly agriculture in order to maintain ecological balance and biodiversity in the region.

Château Burgozone has two series of wine on offer:

Château Burgozone, Special selection and Côte de Danube, Limited selection of the attractive varieties as Chardonnay, Sauvignon blanc, Viognier, Marselan, Cabernet franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlo, Egiodola, Pino Noir and Syrah. Although a relatively new producer Château Burgozone wines have already proved their enormous potential with numerous international recognitions including the first great gold medal for Bulgarian wine from the Concours Mondial de Brussels 2010, gold and silver medal from 2011 edition of Concours Mondial, silver medal at Mundus Vini and several Bronze at Decanter London.

Recently the results from the international competition China Wine Awards 2011 were published and again Chateau Burgozone wines have been awarded with the following medals:

- Silver medal for Chateau Burgozone Cabernet Franc 2010

- Highly Commended medal for Chateau Burgozone Chardonnay 2010
